I'll be with Lowcountry artists for Red Piano Too Art Gallery's 23rd Annual Summer Art Show on Saturday, August 8 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
The featured artist will be Pawleys island, SC, native Asher Robinson. The theme of this year's show is "Creating in the Spirit." Artists invited to the show will display works inspired by the theme.
My novels, created in the spirit of antebellum St. Helena Island, recall a time many people would like to forget. It's my feeling that the past is a major influence on the present. To forget it closes a door to getting better. As William Faulkner said, "The past is never dead. It's not even past." The Art Gallery is located on St. Helena Island, the setting for my series of historical fiction novels, all of which take place in 1857.
MARY MACK
Mary Mack has been a longstanding supporter of Gullah and folk art in the Southeast, and her gallery is crammed with colorful paintings as well as other art, such as sculptures and wood carvings. I've bought several paintings there, and the longer they hang on the wall the more I like them. Red Piano Too's website shows samples of the paintings on offer.
