Short Story in Kestrel

TILL NEXT TIME

Yesterday I approved the galley proof Donna Long of Kestrel, A Journal of Literature and Art sent with the layout of my short story "Till Next Time." It's a story about a woman living alone in a mobile home on New Year's Eve when a knock comes to her door. If it's her erstwhile lover, the night is so cold he may well freeze in the weather. However, he doesn't answer when she calls through the door. Being without nearby neighbors, she has to decide whether or not to open the door.

Fairmont State University in West Virginia produces Kestrel, this issue edited by Suzanne Heagy. "Till Next Time" will appear in Issue 34 which will be the fall 2015 issue. Kestrel accepts submissions from all genres and publishes poetry and prose.

It's midnight on New Year's Eve, freezing cold,
and somebody knocks on the door. Who's there?
"Till Next Time"
