Rockbridge Wash-out

COLUMBIA FLOODS

Thank you to family and friends who've called to check on me and Doug following the floods last weekend. This morning I had a call from Sandy Dumont, a friend from my Brussels days. Hadn't heard from her in years. Our neighborhood wasn't inundated like so many in the city. East Columbia sustained the most damage, especially Forest Acres where there is a string of small lakes connected by dams. Following our record rainfall, some of these dams collapsed, which ushered in the flood.

This is a video from my friend Ginny Padgett, who lives near the Arcadia Lakes. Rockbridge Road, shown here where it crosses two of the lakes, was washed out.
