sparkleberry finale

LAST SATURDAY
I loved the model trains, car show, and antique tractors at the Sparkleberry Country Fair last weekend. The cool morning warmed into a delightful day, the kind you dream of. We could hear children screaming and laughing in the area of the carnival rides (or maybe it was their parents). The arts and crafts show was calm by comparison, not much traffic, though the booth next to mine sold many a garden “flower” made of glass dishes glued together. Our book tent was a bit quiet. Too quiet.

More people were interested in glass "Flowers" for the garden.

(L. to R.) Western fiction writer Mike Long, brother-in-law Richard Harley, and me.
